Joseph A. Kumer , 81, 201 First St. died at 4:20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, in Graham Hospital emergency room in

Canton.

Born Nov. 1, 1918, in St. David to Jakov "Jack" and Justina Grzanich Kumer , he married Barbara M. Micos on June 13, 1942, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. A.J. (Barbara) Smith of Spring, Texas; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Edward of Canton; and two sisters, Bibiana Young of Cuba and Theresa Johnson of Alabama.

He was preceded in death by five brothers.

He worked at International Harvester, retiring in 1974. A World War II Army veteran, he served in England. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1 in Lewistown.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at White Chapel Memory Gardens. The Rev. Jerry Colgan will officiate. Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to St. David United Methodist Church.
