. about 1822 in NC, found in 1850 in Decatur County GA with siblings, Daniel S., Charlotte Jernigan McDaniel and two neices, Margaret and Charlotte McDaniel. William married Narcissus George in 1855, had one son James Calvin, in 1856, and was gone by 1860. The old George cemetery has been destroyed and I suspect that is where he was buried. He may be son of Elisha Jernigan b. in 1801 and the grandson of Jesse Jernigan who died in 1816 in Stewart CO., TN.
