Daryl L. Lindberg

Mr. Daryl E. Lindberg, 75, of 2103 Woodlawn Dr., LaPorte, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at 7:15 a.m. at his home.

He was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Valparaiso, to Clarence and Sylvia (Bricker) Lindberg.

Mr. Lindberg was self-employed as a cement mason, contractor and carpenter and also worked for the Valparaiso School Corp. He was a member of People to People and First United Methodist Church of LaPorte where he belonged to the Over the Hill Gang. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving with the SeaBees.

He married Darlene Yazel, who died Sept. 11, 1986. On July 1, 1988, in LaPorte, he married Belva Jo Ingersoll, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Peggy Dixon of Paris, Ill., Rhonda Clark of Valparaiso, and Kendra Troscinski of McMurray, Pa.; three stepdaughters, Cynthia Ingersoll of Alexandria, Va., Nancy Harris of Greenfield, Wis., and Debbie Ingersoll-Nease of West Lafayette, Ind.; eight grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and one sister, Lorraine Hoover of Hopewell, Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be Sunday at 5 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hadley officiating. On Monday at 1 p.m., a memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church in Valparaiso with Revs. Dave Kovalow-St. John and Mike Dixon officiating. Friends may call at Cutler Funeral Home Sunday from 2 p.m. until the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso.
