CANTON -- Dr. Warren Knapp Wilner Jr., 73, of Rural Route 2 died at 2:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 1994, at his residence.

Born April 25, 1921, in Chicago to Warren Knapp and Edna Loomis Wilner Sr., he married Mary Jacqueline Mathias on April 23, 1965, in Burlingame, Calif. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Scott of Midlothian, Va., Darren of Woodridge and Matthew, at home; three daughters, Wendy Wilner Hale of Arlington, Va., Heidi Wilner Leese of Palo Alto, Calif., and Patricia Wilner Crowder of Bloomington, Ind.; three grandchildren; and one brother, Wesley L. of Park Falls, Wis. He was preceded in death by one sister.

He was assistant professor of anesthesiology and acting chairman of the department of anesthesiology at University Hospital at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. He was clinical instructor of anesthesiology at Stanford University Hospital and the College of Physicians and Surgeons, both in San Francisco. He was chief of anesthesiololgy at Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame, Calif. from October 1953 to November 1966.

He was chief of anesthesiology at Graham Hospital from May 1967 to September 1985. He was a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and a fellow of the American College of Anesthesiology.
He was a member and past president of the Fulton County Medical Society. He was a member of the American Medical Association. He was a member of the Ilinois State Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiologists and the International Anesthesiology Research Society.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Canton.

He served in the Army Medical Corps from May 1943 to June 1948. There will be no services or visitation. His body has been donated to the Anatomical Gift Society. Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
