Added by: emarchesA Company was part of Team Booth. This was one of the three forces (the others being Task Force Harper and Task Force Rose) that were put on major roads leading towards Bastogne in order to slow down the German advance.
Team Booth was under the command of Lt. Col. Robert Middleton BOOTH and was in position on a small ridge roughly halfway between Allerborn, Luxembourg and Moinet, Belgium. Their reconnaissance patrols revealed that they were to be surrounded so they tried to break out at reach Bastogne. Elements of the German 2nd Panzer Division clashed with them near Bourcy. As far as I could find out, your father was probably captured when Team Booth clashed with the reconnaissance force of the German 2nd Panzer Division near Bourcy. There was a 25 minute firefight, and it occurred in the evening of December 18, 1944.
