Von Ray Logston, born Sept. 13, 1925, passed away Dec. 26, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. Preceded in death by parents, Ira and Cassie Bottoms Logston younger brother, Robert (Bob) Logston sister-in-law, Wanda Logston and brother-in-law, Truman Young. Survived by a sister, Clairene Young nieces Sandra and husband John McKeel, Vonda Wariner nephews Mike and wife Tammy Logston, Mitch and wife Fonda Logston sister-in-law Nancy Logston and numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Ray was a Merchant Marine who served during WWII and the Korean War, giving him veteran status. He retired with over 25 years of service and after seeing all the world's great seaports. He worked, thereafter, until his health failed, at the OKC Farmers Market and Ruby's Produce and Garden. He loved his dogs and had a passion for growing flowers. Ray enjoyed fishing, especially the guided Texoma fishing and Illinois River trips he took with his brother and nephews. Ray had a good heart and enjoyed telling wondrous and colorful stories. He was loved and will be missed by all. Special Thanks to the staff of Crystal Place Assisted Living, especially, Joy, Sheila, Beverly, Kathy, Natalie and Matt, David, Emily and Miles of Valir Hospice. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 at Advantage Funeral Service-South Chapel.
