oungest son of Joseph Eaton, Sr., and Jennet Unknown, of Grainger Co., TN. In 1808, Daniel, along with brother John, inherited father Joseph's land. He was also one of the witnesses to Jeremiah Chamberlain's 1829 will. In 1855, Daniel married Charity Vannoy in Grainger Co. (Given their ages, it is likely that one or both were previously married.) Apparently, Daniel and Charity had no children. Charity was afterwards declared a "lunatic" and a guardian was appointed for her upon Daniel's death in 1865. (He died intestate.) Lawsuits were eventually filed by Daniel's siblings or their children contending that, based on the above circumstances, they--not Charity--were the rightful heirs to their brother's estate.
