Lt. Schneiderhan and his crew were attached from the 819th B. S. to the 392nd BS in early 1944 as a replacement / spare crew for the squadron, replacing aircrews when they were sent back to Hawaii for occasional R&R. They wished they had a plane of their own.

— On the 4/17/44 photo recon mission to Saipan, Tinian, Auguijan, in the Marianas. They were one of 5 crews assigned to fly armed escort for 5 Navy PB4Y photo planes. For this mission they were assigned Lt. Feely's B-24D named "LibbyRaider"/ "Annie" for this 3000 mile round trip.

They eventually flew 40 missions, many in various 392nd A/C before being returned to the 819th B.S. to finish their deployment.
