1st Lt Paul W Warby was the Bombardier in the Ellis flight crew. The Ellis crew joined the 27th Bombardment Squadron in Jan 1945 and flew combat missions out of Saipan for the next month. After Feb 1945 they were transferred to 11th Bombardment Group and flew missions from Guam for the next few months. Finally in Jun 1945 they moved their base of operations to Okinawa until the end of the war.
