19th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment

he 19th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment lost 14 officers and 147 enlisted men killed or mortally wounded and 133 enlisted men to disease during the Civil War. It is honored by a monument at Gettysburg Organized at Lynnfield under Colonel Edward W. Hinks (formerly colonel of the 8th Masachusetts Infantry) and Lt. Colonel Arthur Devereux (former captain in the same regiment) and Major Henry How on August 28 1861
